Humanyx' library

Humanyx scientists have created one of the largest human antibody libraries to date. The library has the following features:

# of human donors:

17

Size of library:

41 billion antibodies

Format:

Fab

The library has been validated by using it to generate fully human antibodies against 4 targets to date (mentioned in the products section). High potency antibodies (affinity constants below 1nM) are consistently generated and include neutralizing molecules. The resulting antibodies have also been shown to be produced at high levels and are highly stable.

The methods used to make and use the library have been developed over many years by Humanyx scientists, who have worked on aspects of antibody libraries for 10 years. Two of the Founders worked with one of most successful antibody libraries, created by TargetQuest (Founded by Dr. Larrick and acquired by Dyax), that resulted in the creation of high affinity antibodies now in clinical trials. Further improvements in the type of library and the screening techniques are the sole property of Humanyx, and will enable the Company to create even higher value products more rapidly than was previously possible.

Intellectual Property

Humanyx has a unique intellectual property position that provides important competitive advantages over its competitors. First, the staff has extensive know-how in the use of antibody libraries and a combined experience of more than 50 years in the development of antibodies and other biotherapeutics. They pioneered the development of human hybridoma technology at Stanford University Medical Center, phage antibody display at TargetQuest/ DYAX and therapeutic antibody development at Tanox and Absalus/Evogenix.

Second, Humanyx’ proprietary materials consist of its validated human antibody library, lead antibody product candidates, expression vectors and protocols. Humanyx has also identified a series of suitable antibody targets for future development.
